Dear Enthusiast:

 

The 35th annual Literature, Toy/Model and Memorabilia Meet for Porsches and Vintage VW's will be held again at the Los Angeles Airport Hilton on Century Boulevard close by L.A. International Airport.  The meet will be on our traditional first weekend in March, Saturday, March 3rd, 2018. That date avoids all known conflicts with the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, etc.

 

To be a vendor everyone must fill out and submit to us a California Board of Equalization Form 410, stating that:

1. You have a California Board of Equalization Seller's Permit and are supplying its number;  OR

2. You are display only; "no sales of tangible personal property are being made or solicited at this event"; OR

3.  You are an "occasional seller" only - vending two times a year or less frequently

 

The Form 410 will be required of all vendors at the Lit Meet. It is SOP in CA. For example you cannot vend at Pomona Swap Meet without one. The State Tax people have put us on notice and we will enforce their requirements since the fine is $1000 per vendor without a form on file with us. The information and form are available at www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/boe410d.pdf.

 

For 2018 we will continue to have the Hilton's International and Pacific Ballrooms plus adjacent hallways behind registration and the elevators on the main level. We will have room for about 195 tables in the International Ballroom and about 90 more in the Pacific, plus about 15 in the hallways. For the past three years we overflowed into the hallways (to the maximum extent allowed by the fire marshal) so we are really fully selling out now.

 

The vendor table charge will be $100 for all advance registrations (must be received in Highland Heights, OH by February 23rd) and $150 at the door. The hall will be open for set-up and vendor buying, selling, and swapping at 5:30 a.m. Non-vendors will be able to enter the hall after 9:00 a.m. and will be charged $10 per person at the door.

 

Early Bird shoppers will be admitted at 7:00 a.m. for $30 per person at the door. Once again there will be no required pre-registration for “Early-birds” - just pay and walk in. The meet will end at 2:00 p.m. The entire meet will be non-smoking.

 

The Los Angeles Airport Hilton is at 5711 W. Century Blvd., and the phone number is 310-410-4000. Be certain to call the hotel directly and ask for the group code "PVV" rates when you make your reservations. The standard rooms will be $125 on the "PVV" group code, the tower rooms will be $155 (king or two-doubles), and Executive Floors Suites $185 king only. Please remember that the hotel is close by the Los Angeles International Airport and that there are 24-hour-a-day shuttle buses to and from the airport.

 

We try to place people where they were last year for shopper continuity. If you are absent one year, you WILL LOSE your location. After repeat vendors are accounted for, earlier registrations will get their requested locations over later registrants. NOTE: Some registrants ask to be placed by other vendor(s). Frequently, those friends have a different status for location. In that case we will locate you according to the lower ranking vendor.  Also long-term vendors seem to regularly increase their table requests. We will continue to honor increased table requests until we sell out both rooms on advance registrations. This may result in a short-term vendor moving to Pacific, but as of last year that is not a penalty since both ballrooms had very high shopper traffic.

Please carefully read the NOTES on the Vendor Registration Form. They are an important part of our mutually agreed-to terms under which we invite you to participate in "The Lit Meet".
